Forest School

Miss Naomi is our forest school leader. Naomi is currently training to gain her Forest School Level 3 qualification.

At Busy Bees we have a fantastic on-site area for the children to use throughout the week at Busy Bees. The location provides the perfect space for the children to explore the natural world around them in a safe, engaging way.

We also have a log circle, which the children use to sing camp fire song, eat their snack and talk about their ideas and opinions. With all this outdoor space available, the children love being outside and learning what nature has to offer. Forest School is a wonderful way to reach our aim of helping children be independent, self-motivated, courageous and ready to take part in life-long learning.

As she outlines “My passion has always been outdoor learning, because of the unique opportunities it offers children to be creative, to have space and the freedom to be reflective learning to take controlled risks. The outdoor is also full of special stimuli such as the weather, sounds, smells and textures which enhances a child’s learning environment.

I am inspired and motivated in working with children and young people, helping them to learn about their environment, nature and most importantly themselves, Forest Schools as an excellent way to do this.
At Busy Bees Forest Schools, we will create a first-class programme of sessions over an extended period of time that will inspire and enthuse your children, which will give them experiences they will enjoy and remember. I am so excited to be working at Busy Bees creating and developing plans and ideas for our Forest Schools programme that will enable children to develop and explore through their interests.

At sessions children will build dens and shelters, explore tracks, lay trails, use simple hand tools, create art, switch on their senses, play, climb, find and take care of wildlife, understand eco-systems, create habitats, tell stories and songs in all weathers and in all seasons!”

Activities

We have a carefully planned programme of activities available to the children, which supports the development of their confidence and self-esteem, leading to happy, healthy children.
