At Busy Bees we’re more than just a childcare setting we’re a family. As an independent family run business (not part of the Busy Bees chain), we believe childhood should be full of muddy wellies, big smiles and endless opportunities to explore. Our days are filled with play, laughter, and learning, and we’re looking for a caring, creative and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our team and help us give every child the best start in life.
We have wonderful facilities for the children, some of which include: –
- An indoor heated swimming pool
- 2 Forest School areas
- 5 Classrooms
- An out of school club for Primary School aged children
- Extensive outdoor play areas
Details
To work as the Room Leader and Early Years Practitioner in our 3-year classroom, working alongside 4 other members of the team
Hours: 6.45am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday (we would however be happy to consider a 4-day working week should that be your preference)
Hourly rate: £13.74 per hour

Requirements
- Must have a relevant level 3 or above specific CHILDCARE (early years) qualification
- Previous nursery experience, with some leadership or senior role responsibilities
- Good knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements and safeguarding procedures
- Great leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A genuine passion for working with young children and helping them to reach their full potential
- Someone warm, approachable, and ready to bring positivity to the team
- Must have bundles of enthusiasm, a good sense of fun and a love of the great outdoors – come rain or shine!
Key responsibilities:
As a Room Leader, you’ll create a warm, stimulating environment where children feel safe, happy and inspired. You’ll also:
- Lead and support your room team to provide high-quality care and playful learning experiences
- Plan and deliver creative activities, from messy play and outdoor adventures to cosy story times
- Be a role model for your team, offering guidance, encouragement, and new ideas
- Build strong relationships with families, sharing the joy of their child’s daily achievements
- Keep the room safe, welcoming, and bursting with opportunities to explore
- Celebrate children’s progress through observations and learning journeys
- Work closely with the management team to ensure the very best for every child
